Daystreak (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is a personal habit and event streak tracker. We respect your privacy and we are committed to protecting information that relates to your use of the Daystreak mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
a. Information you provide
When you use Daystreak, you may choose to enter or create content, including:
- Events and streak entries (e.g. “Quit smoking”, “Our puppy joined the family”, anniversaries)
- Notes or descriptions you add to an event
- Optional media such as background images or photos for your events (if the feature is enabled)
- Language or localization preferences
b. Automatically collected information
When you open or use the App, we may automatically collect limited technical information, such as:
- Device information (device model, operating system version)
- App version and settings
- Crash data and diagnostic logs (to improve stability)
c. Analytics and advertising data
We may use third-party services (for example, Google AdMob for ads, and analytics providers) that may collect information about your device and usage to show you relevant ads or to understand how the App is used. These third parties may use cookies, mobile identifiers, or similar technologies.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the core Daystreak features (create events, count streak days, display your content)
- Store your preferences and app settings
- Improve and optimize the App, including fixing bugs and analyzing usage patterns
- Show ads or process in-app purchases if you choose those features
- Communicate with you about important changes to the App or this Privacy Policy
3. Data Storage and Sync
Depending on your device settings and the App’s current implementation, your event data may be stored locally on your device. If you enable any cloud/backup/sync option (for example, iCloud on iOS if integrated in the future), your data may also be stored with that cloud provider according to their terms.
We recommend that you keep your device secure and make backups regularly.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share limited information in the following cases:
- Service providers: With third-party vendors that help us deliver the App (hosting, analytics, ads). They only get what they need.
- Legal requirements: If we are required to do so by law, subpoena, or court order.
- Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or similar, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Advertising
The App may display ads from third-party ad networks such as Google AdMob. These networks may use device identifiers and other information to show personalized or non-personalized ads, depending on your consent and/or platform settings.
You can usually adjust ad tracking preferences in your device settings (for example, “Limit Ad Tracking” on iOS).
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of data that is no longer needed
- Opt-out of certain analytics or advertising (where technically available)
You can also delete your local data directly by uninstalling the App. If you want to request deletion of data we may hold on our side (for example, support emails), contact us.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
8. International Users
If you access the App from outside the country where our services are hosted, your information may be transferred across borders and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your country.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or in the law. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top. In some cases we may notify you inside the App.
